All of these guards they stand tall and defensive
Putting up walls around what was once innocent
They won't let me in but I'm stronger than that
'Cause you stole my eyes and I've never looked back
Boy last night I forgot to mention
They way that I feel, the way that I'll remember this
When we're this young, we have nothing to lose
Just a clock to beat and a hand to choose
It's a long drive back to Vegas skies
So why don't I make one more wrong turn tonight?
So say goodnight, our first goodbye
I've only got forever and forever is fine
Just take your time
We'll stop the clocks together
And know that the timing was right...

Play out like a scene straight off the silver screen;
To be perfectly honest, this weekend is one of the greatest I have lived in my nineteen years of being on this planet and it was these events that made it worthwhile;
Friday, 22nd May - We the Kings/Hey Monday - Cathouse, Glasgow. I was working beforehand unfortunately (12pm - 4pm) but thankfully the venue was literally two minutes away from my work. I met Sarah and Siobhan as they were walking to Buchanan Street as they didn't want to queue and they were also waiting on Robyn, Grant and Natalie. Hanging around town, it was a glorious day. The sky was blue and the sun was out, a little breeze now and again but it was to be expected. Doors opened just after seven and the bar was the first place I went to (£1 for Apple Sourz and Lemonade, yum!)
The first support act were a small English band called Out of Sight who were alright actually, didn't really pay much attention to them if I'm being honest, but credit to them.
I'd heard of Hey Monday before I knew they were supporting We the Kings, but I never knew the lyrics to any of their songs. Cassadee (lead vocals) who also has recorded with The CAB has an amazing vocal range live and I was very impressed with their set. Josey was the stand out track of the night for me, simply brilliant. It felt great knowing that I saw their debut Scottish performance and I will definitely see them again when they come back to the UK.
We the Kings put on an amazing show, performing my favourite song All Again For You which I love, and the usual favourites Skyway Avenueand Check Yes Juliet and a fantastic cover of The Middle by Jimmy Eat World, such an awesome gig.
The night out was well worth it! Hanging out with the bands, drinking and dancing the night away. Ended up having more than I could handle but its not often I get to do that.
Saturday, 23rd May - Nickelback/Black Stone Cherry - SECC, Glasgow. I have been to loads of gigs since I was 9 years old but seriously - WOW. Both bands were just absolutely out of this world. Even though I was working until 5pm, I was still near the front, yey!
The only support act Nickelback had were Black Stone Cherry and Oh, my God. What a performance. It was so energetic and raw, never seen or heard them before but man, I have been converted to a fan! I'll be paying them a visit at the O2 Academy in October on their headlining tour.
The next ninety minutes were just nothing short of spectacular. I have never seen a band so amazing live who put 1000% into every single song, their stage prescence never failed to amaze me and yes, they played the one song I knew I'd break down at but every tear was worth it. I could not have chosen a better set list for them, twelve songs that captivated every single audience member from the first chord to the last. I pray they play Glasgow damn soon so I can relive the amazing performance again.
This isn't staying in Vegas, its coming to Glasgow;
*holds breath*

I'm in love with a fairytale;
Even though it hurts, 'Cause I don't care if I lose my mind, I'm already cursed.
Is it sad I love this? I hope not!
It is actually fabulous. The little cheeky smile gets me every single time!

Viva la Twenty First Century Breakdown.
American Idiot, eat your heart out.
This album is phenomenal, words fail me right this very second but I'm extremely impressed by this. I knew they were capable of doing an amazing album but the word amazing is an understatement. This is making me realize that I'm in for a treat in October when I see them play in Glasgow on the 19th.
Dreaming, I was only dreaming, Of another place and time, Where my family's from,
Singing, I can hear them singing, When the rain had washed away, All these scattered dreams,
Dying, Everyone's reminded, Hearts are washed in misery, Drenched in Gasoline,
Laughter, There is no more laughter, Song's of yesterday now live, In the underground
Before the Lobotomy - Green Day.
That is all.

I've only got forever...
and forever is fine...
I've never written a blog about how one person is so influential in my life. This man is completely inspirational and my respect for him I simply cannot put into words as there's not enough words in the English language.
His blog entries make me smile with delight, the way he uses words to put down what his heart really feels is simply amazing to me. His vocals on Whisper War gives me tingles every time one of the tracks plays. Vegas Skies is my all time favourite song, the lyrics I can relate to more that you could probably imagine. On his blog (symphonysoldier.com) he says:
Vegas Skies is simple. It’s a story of true love and patience. I know things get hard..and a lot of times it feels like the world is crashing down on you..but you need to reach down and pick up those pieces, grab some glue and put it back together. We determine our own destiny. Love came to me in the form of a lovely young lady named Logan…who knows in what form it will come to you in. Love me. Love yourself. Love those around you. It’s a lot easier to love that way. It is true that it takes many more muscles to frown than it does to smile. Don’t be afraid of falling in love. Don’t be afraid of love falling into you. But afraid of it NOT. Remember… it may take what seems like forever… but for love...
Forever is fine.
This man is nothing but spectacular and its quite easy to see why he is my idol, despite never meeting him.
